Endometriosis Awareness Month 2021

March is endometriosis awareness month. For many women around the world this is not just any issue for one month, its an issue that has effected us everyday of our lives. For me it started at 11 years for but for some its even earlier.

I experience heavy bleeding & extreme pain , this had a huge effect on my education, then later on my career. At the age of 25 I diagnosed with endometriosis with a long list of other health issues.

What’s Endometriosis?

Its condition where lining of the womb tissue starts to grow inside other body area, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

Women can experience a host of symptoms connected to this condition and it not easy to diagnose, speck to your GP if you have a symptoms you are concerned about.

In some cases women experience Infertility as a result of this condition. As well as having Endometriosis I also suffer with adenomyosis. Its very similar to endometriosis however the lining grows in the uterus cavity.

Being in a school, college or work environment while experiencing pain, heavy bleeding can be horrible. It’s a challenge when symptoms are discounted.

Endometriosis Awareness Month 2021 helps shed light on this issue, while providing education on the matter. The Yellow Ribbon symbol started to represent endometriosis from the yellow educational brochure recreated in 1980 by Mary Lou Ballweg.

1 in 10 women globally suffer with Endometriosis. therefore we all may know someone thats deals with this issue . I left my old career and started making wigs because of my health issue’s (about us page) . Creating a compassionate and empathetic work environment for my team is important to me and if sharing information on Endometriosis Awareness Month 2021 helps educations another employer I am happy to help.
